DL0SHF hat die Möglichkeit ca. 30 Travelling Wave Tube Amplifier mit 300 oder 600 W mit Stromversorgung für 240V AC zu beschaffen. Die TWT´s arbeiten original im 14 GHz-Bereich.
Fernsteuerungsschnittstelle ist in den Geräten bereits eingebaut.
Beschaffung , Transport und nachfolgender Umbau auf 10 GHz erfordern einen erheblichen Aufwand an Arbeit und Kosten, für die wir in Vorleistung gehen müssten.
Da DL0SHF bereits gut mit TWT´s (600 W) ausgestattet ist, werden wir die Aktion nur durchführen, wenn ein entsprechendes Interesse bei anderen EME Stationen vorhanden ist.
Ein für 10 GHz betriebsbereit umgebauter kompletter TWT-Amp mit min. 300 W out wird dann 1500.-Euro ( ggf. + Fracht ) kosten.
Die Netzteile sind über einen weiten Spannungsbereich bequem per an der Frontplatte befindlichen Reglern einstellbar und damit für fast alle TWT`s nutzbar, natürlich auch auf anderen Bändern !
Netzteile und TWTs sind in getrennten Einschüben, damit kann die TWT auch in Antennennähe vom Netzteil abgesetzt betrieben werden.

DL0SHF has the rare opportunity to acquire approx. 30 Travelling Wave Amplifiers capable of 300 or 600W output in the 3cm (10 GHz) amateur radio band. Operation is linear with a drive power of max. 200 mW. These units were operated in 14GHz sat uplink band and can be converted for ham use. Supply is 240VAC single phase.
Our station is already well equipped with those amps. Getting additional amps to our location and converting them for ham use requires a lot of working hours and money. We would start that activity only if there is sufficient interest for the amps in the ham EME community.
The power supplies are adjustable over a broad voltage range from the frontplate, therefore you can use them for a variety of TWTs on other bands too if needed.
Power supply and
TWT are in two separated 19" racks so it is possible to mount the TWT
at the antenna and the PS in the shack.
Price for a ready-to use unit with 300W out will be 1500 € ( plus shipping costs )
